Police arrest seven people in death of Georgia lottery winner
Authorities in Georgia have arrested seven people in the death of a 20-year-old lottery winner, Craigory Burch Jr, who was killed during a home invasion just two months after he won $434,000 jackpot. Craigory, who until his win in November 2015, was a forklift driver, lived with his girlfriend and their child, who witnessed his murder at their Fitzgerald home in Georgia.
Three masked men reportedly blasted their way into his home in January 2016, demanded his wallet and money and riddled the young father with bullets during the operation.
The victim’s girlfriend Jasmine Hendricks later told police that when the men came into their home, Craig said
"When they came in, he said, 'don't do it bro. Don't do it in front of my kids. Please don't do it in front of my kids and old lady,'" Hendricks said.Seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder and all face malice murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and firearm possession charges, according to WALB-TV.
They were identified as Fitzgerald residents Earnest Holcomb, 27; Wayan Jordan, 17; and Rosalyn Swain, 22. Moultrie residents Keyona Dyous, 24, and Nathaniel Baker, 28, and Tifton residents dabrentis Overstreet, 19, and Anjavell Johnson, 21, were also arrested.
Jordan will be charged as an adult. The shooter was not immediately identified. Burch’s girlfriend ran for help after witnessing the gunmen slay her boyfriend.
